At Amazon Flex, we are committed to supporting you on and off the road. This includes providing you with help and resources in the event of a natural disaster, such as earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, ice storms, land or mudslides, tornadoes, tropical storms, and wildfires.

Your safety is always our top priority. If an area is affected by a natural disaster, we will provide real-time alerts in the Amazon Flex app to delivery partners, and we have a dedicated driver support team ready to help if you need assistance. If there is a safety risk, we will cancel your deliveries. If you are already on the road, or we cancel a block within 48 hours of the scheduled time, you will still get paid for it. As always, we do not expect you to make a delivery if you feel unsafe.

Following a natural disaster, eligible delivery partners in the US also have access to financial assistance through the Amazon Relief Fund.1 The Amazon Relief Fund provides grants year-round to those who have experienced hardship due to natural disasters. The Amazon Relief Fund offers short and long-term grants to help you following a natural disaster. Short-term grants provide support for immediate expenses including evacuation, temporary shelter, and replacement of essential items like food, clothing, and toiletries. Long-term grants are available for larger recovery efforts, like costs for property repairs as a result of a natural disaster.

You can apply for Amazon Relief Fund assistance as soon as you need it following a natural disaster. Applying for a grant is a simple process that takes about 10 minutes, and it typically takes up to five business days for a grant specialist to review your submission. You can find a list of required documents, information about what to expect, and answers to frequently asked questions on the Amazon Relief Fund website. The Amazon Relief Fund is here to provide vital support when you need it, and we encourage eligible delivery partners to apply.

1. The Amazon Relief Fund is administered by a nonprofit organization, E4E Relief (E4E). E4E oversees the end-to-end grant management, from adjudicating applications to distributing grants. Any award distributed is subject to the terms and conditions set forward by E4E. Awards are based on the extent of hardship caused by the disaster, along with submission of valid supporting documents. Amazon does not have a role in the determination of grant awards, or the grant selection process.
