A family of four stands on a brown grassy hill and stares toward hills and a lake in the background. Around the shoulders of the family members is an American flag.

In honor of Veterans Day on November 11, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to all those who have dedicated themselves to serving through the United States military. As we take this time to recognize these courageous individuals, we are proud to introduce you to some of our Amazon Flex delivery partners who have answered the call of duty.

Sheri, Air Force veteran and Amazon Flex delivery partner from New Mexico

Sheri, from New Mexico

“I went into the Air Force when I was 18 years old after I graduated from high school. I have a total of 12 deployments under my belt, including two to Iraq, as well as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and I had multiple assignments in Europe. I retired in 2018 to be there for my two younger children, who I home school. I drive with Amazon Flex because I enjoy the freedom of being able to choose my schedule and I can deliver packages and do something for my community.”

David, Army veteran and Amazon Flex delivery partner from New Mexico

David, from New Mexico

“I was drafted into the Army in 1969, I spent one full year in Vietnam, and got out in 1972. In 2009, my wife, Kathie, and I retired and moved from Fairbanks, Alaska to New Mexico. Kathie and my son drove with Amazon Flex before I did. I really enjoy it. I try to be really friendly with customers. Not only am I making extra spending money, but I’m able to see our community on a much broader scale.”

Jeffrey, Army veteran and Amazon Flex delivery partner from Indiana

Jeffrey, from Indiana

“The summer between my junior and senior year in high school I decided I wanted to join the Army and be a patient care specialist. I became disabled during my time in the Army, and I was medically discharged. I went into law enforcement and most recently, in logistics. My wife and I are getting ready to retire, and to make extra house payments and truck payments, I started doing Amazon Flex. Our goal is to be 100% debt-free when we retire.”

Russell, Air Force veteran and Amazon Flex delivery partner from Michigan

Russell, from Michigan

“I joined the Air Force when I turned 18 when the United States was in the Vietnam War. In 1975, I got an honorable discharge, went on to school and retired as a project design engineer in 2019. I like Amazon Flex because I’m my own boss and I can choose when I want to take a block and where. While driving, I’ve traveled all over, and I like that you get to see a lot of places and get familiar with a lot of areas."

Taylor, Army National Guard veteran and Amazon Flex delivery partner from New York

Taylor, from New York

“I followed in my grandfather’s footsteps – he was also a captain in the Army National Guard – and I went to college first and then joined. I had two deployments to the Pacific and when COVID happened, I was sent to the Harlem Armory, where the New York National Guard led operations. I spent about 10 years with the National Guard and was honorably discharged in December 2023, and I have been driving with Amazon Flex for 3 years. I like that it’s flexible around your life, that I can have that interaction with customers, and helping out the community.”

Hank, Army veteran and Amazon Flex delivery partner from Texas

Hank, from Texas

“I completed four years in the Army, then went to college, did film and television, and later went back to active duty for another 17 years. I retired from the Army in 2015, and decided I wanted to pursue making movies, and made my short film. I did a few films as a stunt coordinator, and was lucky to be employed through COVID. Amazon Flex is perfect for what I’m doing between acting jobs. I can work as much or as little as I want.”

Thank you to all of our country’s veterans for their service in our communities.
